Former WWE star Big Cass, who was released from the company earlier this year, just months after his ex-tag team partner Enzo Amore was released from WWE, recently made his return to independent wrestling.
According to WrestleTalk, Cass, real name William Morrissey, was scheduled to make an appearance at the House of Hardcore event at the old ECW Arena on Saturday night. While Cass was not scheduled to compete in a match at the event, he was scheduled to do a run-in, however, that did not take place as Cass suffered what appeared to be a seizure while speaking to a fan backstage at the show.
The report adds that Cass was loaded into an ambulance following the seizure and taken to the hospital, and as of this writing no further details are known regarding his condition.
[lawrence-related id=840687]Following the incident, House of Hardcore owner Tommy Dreamer spoke to the live crowd in Philadelphia and addressed Big Cass’ seizure. Dreamer stressed that the seizure did not appear to be drug related, and as of now the cause of the collapse and subsequent seizure remains unknown.

David Onda, who was live Tweeting from the scene, also reported, “That was scary. It was intermission at the show, the lobby was packed with people checking out the merch tables. Cass went right down into his face. Fans immediately stepped back to give him room. Doc was called. Kind of chaotic. Dreamer was right by his side.”
Onda added that Cass eventually made it up to one knee, which was considered to be a good sign, before he was helped into an ambulance and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
Footage of Cass collapsing and suffering the seizure can be seen by clicking on the above link, but it should be warned that the video is graphic in nature and might be difficult for some viewers to watch.
