Navy has dismissed cornerback Brendon Clements for a violation of team rules, according to a Yahoo! report. Clements, who was to be a senior this season, had four interceptions to go with 52 tackles in 2015. With 35 career starts, Clements was one of the Midshipmen’s most experienced defenders.
His dismissal appears to be the final straw in a career marred by transgressions.
Sources told The Capital the most recent infraction incurred by Clements was minor, but was a backbreaker in light of his past transgressions.
Clements was suspended indefinitely in February before being reinstated in late April.
