Former South Carolina football coach Lou Holtz is without question a great speaker and has the ability to motivate a person. No wonder he made out to be a good coach back in the day.
There are some at in the USC fanbase that may not care for Coach Holtz but he has a special place for us here on this Gamecocks Blog. Yeah that 0-11 and 1-10 season hurt but through that valley was a great experience on the other side with back to back wins in the Outback bowls versus Ohio State.
In the video below, Coach Holtz, who was the guest speaker this past Tuesday night in Memphis as the University of Memphis, kicks off their fundraising campaign to raise $10 million for an indoor practice facility. He mentions his time at Notre Dame and how his push to get a indoor facility was so important to the success of the Fighting Irish. The reason I bring this to your attention is for two reasons: he gives some insight on the 0-11 season at USC and the second is his message can be used in life about doing the right thing.
