The South Carolina men’s basketball team (8-3) earned a 63-57 victory over Manhattan (3-7) in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Here is the "good, bad and ugly" with the win:

The Good – The Gamecocks had three players with double-digit scoring….junior guard Brenton Williams had 17 points, junior Brenton Williams led the Gamecocks with 17 points and freshman forward Michael Carrera dished in 13.

The Bad – The play of guard Eric Smith. He has to produce but in this game he only had three point and three assists with a one-for-five shooting effort. What makes it bad is the seven turnovers he had by himself. Must do better.

The Ugly – Gamecocks had 19 turnovers. This team has to get a little more polished as the SEC schedule is just around the corner.

Overall, a win is a win but must continue to improve. Next up for USC is a home game versus Presbyterian at 1 p.m. on Dec. 29th.
