Lightning Recall Paquette – Reassign Blunden

The Lightning recalled forward Cedric Paquette from Syracuse on today.

Paquette, 21, has skated in four games with Syracuse this season, posting three goals and five points to go along with a team-high plus-5 rating. The 6-foot-1,199-pounder recorded a two-goal game on October 12 against Hartford.

The Gaspe, Quebec native has skated in two career regular-season NHL games, all with the Lightning last season, collecting one assist. Paquette appeared in all four of the Lightning’s 2014 postseason games, recording a pair of assists to go along with 16 penalty minutes.

Blunden, 27, made his Lightning debut on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames, logging 10:09 of ice time. He led all Lightning skaters for hits in the game with three. The 6-3, 214-pound forward has played in four games this season with Syracuse, recording two goals and three points.

In Paquette, the Bolts become more physical and speedy from the center position.
