Bishop Leads Bolts Over Blue Jackets 3-1

Big Ben Bishop made 34 saves and Cedric Paquette scored his fifth goal in the last three games to lead Lightning over the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 for their franchise best tenth straight home win at Amalie Arena.

Brett Connolly and Valtteri Filppula also scored for Tampa Bay. Bishop lost his shutout when Ryan Johansen scored with 3:26 remaining in the game.

Former Bolt Curtis McElhinney stopped 31 shots for the Blue Jackets, who are now 0-18-0 when trailing after two periods. Columbus now has a -20 goal differential in the third period.

Connolly scored with just 23.5 seconds left in the first period. Paquette scored at 10:02 of the third period and Filppula made it 3-0 just over a minute and a half later.

Shots were 35-34 in favor of Columbus and the Bolts were 0-4 on the power play.

Tampa Bay now has nine players with ten or more goals.

Nikita Nesterov (healthy), J.T. Brown (healthy), Radko Gudas (knee surgery) and Matt Carle (abdominal surgery) were the scratches.

The Lightning will visit the St. Louis Blues Tuesday night.
