Bolts Fall 4-0 In Game 5 Against Wings

The Lightning’s thrilling overtime rally tied the series and set the stage for a pivotal game 5 at Amalie Arena this evening. Unfortunately the Bolts were unable to recapture that magic on home ice.  Petr Mrazek remained a thorn in their sides and stopped all 28 shots he saw. The Red Wings continued to flummox the Lightning in the neutral zone and on zone entries.  The Lightning went 0-3 on the power play. Ben Bishop stopped 26 of 29 shots faced.

Riley Sheahan and Drew Miller opened the scoring for Detroit. Pavel Datsyuk‘s power play goal and Danny DeKeyser‘s empty net goal would put the game out of reach in the third.

Detroit brings a 3-2 series lead back to Detroit for Game 6 at Joe Louis Arena.  Puck drop is set for 7 pm.
