Lightning Sign Forward Jonathan Marchessault

General manager Steve Yzerman announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Jonathan Marchessault to a one-year, two-way contract today.

Originally undrafted, Marchessault was traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Lightning on March 5th 2014. He played in two regular season games for the Bolts in the 2014-15 season and scored his first career NHL goal against the Boston Bruins on April 11th 2015. He also appeared in two Stanley Cup playoff games during the postseason.

Marchessault also played in 68 games for Tampa Bay’s AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch last season. He recorded 28 goals and ranked sixth in the league with 43 assists. He won the Crunch’s Player of the Year and Wing of the Year awards.
