Boucher: Bolts On Summer Break 4

IMAG0949

It’s late August and we can almost see the new NHL season from here. As our final weeks of freedom wind down, the Bolts are getting ready to get back to business. Here’s a look at what the boys have been up to during the dog days of summer:

The status of his contract has been a hot topic as of late but that’s not getting in Steven Stamkos’ way. Tampa Bay’s captain is currently getting into peak condition with Gary Roberts. The performance center shared this photo of Stammer in action:

Stamkos also appeared in a commercial for Sport Check:

Defenseman Jason Garrison took part in Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat day a few weeks back. The event helps raise money for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. His beard appears to be in mid-season form:

Forward Alex Killorn has stayed extremely busy this summer. He attended an event for the newly released EA Sports video game NHL 16 and faced off against teammate Jonathan Drouin. If the caption is any indication, things didn’t go so well for Alex.

Right before @jodrouin27 dusted me in the new NHL 16. @rds

He also captured a fantastic video of 6’8” defenseman Andrej Sustr in a Smart Car on the way to the gym. The physics of how Sustr even fit in that thing are mind boggling.

Killorn didn’t stop there. He also dealt out some top notch chirping about one of Tyler Johnson’s favorite eateries

Speaking of Tyler, he took in the Seattle Seahawks’ first preseason game against the Denver Broncos.

Lightning prospects Anthony DeAngelo and 2015 draft pick Mitchell Stephens took part in BioSteel’s annual camp. You can watch video highlights from each day here. Stephens caught the eye of BarDown with his skills:

In honor of yesterday’s celebration of National Dog Day, we’ll end with J.T. Brown and his pups.
