Before the season started the folks at FanDuel, a neat single-day fantasy sports website, inivited me to participate in a NHL Writer’s League challenege with 10 other blogger-writer type people. Essentially, every week we pick a roster under the FanDuel valued salary cap for Saturday’s games and see who comes out on top.
And yeah, yours truly took home the top spot in the first week. BOOM ROASTED! That’s what happens when you mess with HULKAMANIA!!
…Err… I mean…
Actually, don’t mess with Steven Stamkos, who had over 1/5 of my team’s total points. And I clinched the thing when in the late game Christian Erhoff scored a powerplay goal (that’s a bunch of points). That only happens about 5 times a year so it’s only slightly rarer than Lindsey Lohan getting arrested. But hey, it was super close (Leahy and MetricJulie made it a nail biter) and super fun.
