STAPLES CENTER, LOS ANGELES, CA — This is a continuation of the halftime recap of the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles Clippers

The Warriors took a 62-49 at halftime.

Q3: Showtime!

The third stanza started with trading free throws, then Klay Thompson hit a three from the right arc on a catch, a double-pick provided by Zaza Pachulia and Draymond Green as Stephen Curry got the assist:

After Blake Griffin was short on a fade-away, Kevin Durant got the rebound, fed Thompson on the left wing, who up-faked J.J. Redick and got the step on the left side past him.

With DeAndre Jordan lurking to help, Klay rose for a calm and collected banker off the glass, and the Warriors were back up big, 71-52, with 9:41 remaining.

Curry then missed a three with Griffin closing out and straight-arming him in the chest with no call, and Redick hit a jumper at the other end. Steph tried to explain to the ref what happened, but he wasn’t listening as the Warriors brought the ball back up.

Curry then got a steal, but missed the in-transition pull-up three, and Clippers head coach Doc Rivers took a timeout with Golden State up, 71-54, with 8:04 to play.

Out of the timeout, Steph stole the ball from Paul and got a run-out layup, avoiding the last-second swipe by “CP3”.

Curry then stole a pass, but Thompson missed the trailing three from the opposite wing. However, Pachulia grabbed a couple offensive boards and finally got the ball inside. Zaza passed up the easy bucket and fed Draymond for a two-hand smash.

The Warriors weren’t done.

Paul missed a three on a pick-and-roll over Green, Durant rebounded, outlet to Klay, who found Zaza inside, who then gave it back to a cutting Thompson, who then found Draymond, who then dished to Pachulia back inside, who then zipped a pass up top to KD.

Durant line-drived the shot through the hoop, and the Warriors had a 78-54 lead with 6:24 to play.

Griffin missed from up top, Durant got the board, and threw a touchdown pass to Green, who was fouled by Redick running back.

JaVale McGee joined the party with a block of Griffin, and Iguodala raced up the court to find Draymond for another layup that was fouled.

By the time Marreese Speights hit a three, the Warriors had an 81-57 lead.

Later, McGee fed his old buddy Iguodala for a swooping one-hand jam…

…Speights struck back with a bucket, and Kerr took a timeout with the Warriors up, 85-63 with 3:05 to go.

At this point, the Warriors amazingly had more steals (11) than the Clippers had assists (10).

Closing out the quarter, McGee got a putback of his own…

…then Curry took a spill, passed to Durant, who dropped a dime to Kevon Looney for the dunk.

At the end of three stanzas, the Warriors held a 91-75 lead over the Clips.

Q4: Keeping The Foot On The Pedal

Durant got an “and-one” to start the final frame, then David West grabbed a rebound and outlet to Shaun Livingston, who hit a pull-up jumper, and Iguodala got another dunk, this time assisted by West, Andre’s fourth dunk on the night. All of his field goals were dunks.

Livingston got an impressive one-on-two steal under the hoop, Thompson added a jumper, Iguodala spun for a lay-in at the rim to collect his first non-dunk field goal, and the Warriors had a 102-80 lead with under eight minutes remaining, when Crawford finally broke the Clips’ ice with an “and-one” to the rim, fouled by West.

At this point, Golden State had a 25-11 advantage on fast-break points.

[the remainder of the game will be filled in shortly]
