GAME NOTES: I fell into a pair of cheap bleacher tickets prior to the game, so I got to see the game-saving catch by Adam Stern. I also got to hear the crowd explode when Papelbon came out to save the game, something I haven’t heard in a long time, if at all. We exploded for Foulke later in the 2004 season, but in April? No, we didn’t. It was a good game, as we kept fighting back to score. Taking the positive out of the ninth is that we won even though Papelbon scuffled, and he got to learn the game in the ninth with pressure and himself not doing so hot. I question Francona’s move to bring Clement out for the eighth, but that’s about it.
