05/24: Randy Johnson (5-4, 5.62) @ Matt Clement (4-3, 5.36)

New York Yankees (25-18) @ Boston Red Sox (26-17)
GAME: 7:05 EDT at Fenway Park
TV: NESN, ESPN
Radio: WEEI 850
RESULT OF PRIOR GAME
New York Yankees 7, Boston Red Sox 5 (W: Jaret Wright, L: Tim Wakefield, S: Mariano Rivera)
Sox Star of the Game: Manny Ramirez – 5 AB, 1 R, 3 H, 4 RBI, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 LOB
Game Notes: It’s a game the Sox should have won, but then again, there have been games the Yankees should have won. It’s the law of averages evening out. The offense did fine, behind the explosion of Manny Ramirez – but Lady Luck chose not to smile on us. It happens. The pitching was solid except for the five walks by Mr. Wakefield which led to 6 ER (one unearned because of Doug Mirabelli suddenly being taken over by Josh Bard’s spirit). Let’s get them tomorrow. By the way, you may notice Fire Brand has some several modifications. I added in the date and time the article was posted under each article, took out the “Trackback” section (which is mostly spam anyways), kept the Permalink, and changed the “Comments” to “Join the Discussion!” That’s because we aren’t trying to be the know-it-alls and have you comment on our writing. It’s a discussion about the topic at hand, and all are invited to talk about it in the Discussion section. There’s also a link right below each title, next to the person who wrote it, with the category it was filed under. This should also start being helpful in terms of archiving. Lastly, the notes section that was in every article in a little box has been moved to the right menu, above “Elsewhere on All-Baseball.com.” Just making things a little nicer!
