Vladimir Sobotka Injured in Practice
Vladimir Sobotka was seen using crutches and wearing a walking boot following Monday’s practice. Sobotka was hit in the left ankle with a shot, as reported by Jeremy Rutherford.
As of this moment, there’s no clear diagnosis on how severe Sobotka’s injury is. We will know more following further testing and examination. Look for another update in the near future.
Sobotka has been a force for the Blues this season, disrupting opponents in their own end while using every ounce of his body to deliver big hits that often take the opposing team by surprise. On the year, Sobotka has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 27 games. Hopefully the injury isn’t severe as Sobotka has been one of the best all-around players on the team to date.
The injury comes at a time where the Blues are enjoying four consecutive days off before they take on the New York Rangers on Thursday night. The time off comes at a good time as one other member of the Blues, Matt D’Agostini, is recovering from a hit he took against San Jose. The team tested him for a concussion, but D’Agostini claimed he was fine. He will test himself on Tuesday and return to practice Wednesday before being further evaluated.
