Player of the Game
Jesus Aguilar‘s two hit performance earns him POG. It was a nice end to a season that likely didn’t go the way he’d hoped.
Feathers Up
Roberto Perez got the Tribe started in the second with a double down the left field line, he would later come around to score on a Giovanny Urshela single. The Indians got back on the board in the 3rd when a wild throw to first got past Travis Shaw scoring Michael Martinez. After Lonnie moved to second on the throw, Jose Ramirez grounded out moving him to third, Jesus Aguilar then singled to left to make the score 3-1 Tribe.
Danny Salazar entered today’s game 11 strikeouts away from 200 for the year. Unfortunately he finished 5 short and will wrap up the season with a very respectable total of 195. This was a great season for Danny, he continues to show promise every year. Expect even bigger things from him next year.
Aguilar got a rare start today and made the most of it, racking up 2 hits in today’s game. I’ve been on the record advocating for more playing time for Aguilar all season, it’s unfortunate he never was given the chance he has earned.
Feathers Down
The only downside to today’s game is that there are no playoff games to follow. A disappointing season ends in a disappointing fashion. Hopefully this off-season brings some much needed changes to ballclub whose window of contention isn’t getting any longer.
Final Score: Cleveland Indians 3 – Boston Red Sox 1
On Deck: There literally is no tomorrow for the 2015 Indians, the season will wrap up in 161 games since the rained out Tigers’ game will not be made up. See you next April!
