12/13 Lottery Links: Pelicans, Lance, and highlights

Another week of the NBA season has come and gone, and here are this week’s lottery links.

On Friday night the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Cleveland Cavaliers despite Anthony Davis suffering a chest contusion in the first half that forced him to miss the remainder of the game. During a week in which countless regurgitated “Impatient Pelicans have failed to build around Anthony Davis” columns started surfacing, Real GM’s Jonathan Tjarks talked about why this Pelicans panic-button punching is premature.

TLM’s Daniel Coughlin wrote a phenomenal profile on Lance Stephenson’s tenure thus far with the Charlotte Hornets, which got some love from CBS’ Matt Moore in Moore’s report on the trade interest surrounding Stephenson.

After releasing a mock draft of the 2015 first round last week, TLM draft expert Zach Reynolds pumped out player profiles on Caris LeVert and Mario Hezonja that, as always, are worth a click.

Earlier this week I advocated for the removal of conferences without overhauling the schedule.

For Knicks fans feeling pretty good about breaking their losing steak last night, here are some Amare Stoudemire highlights from TLM’s “Lottery Game of the Week” between by the Knicks and Pelicans.

More highlights from the week worth watching:

Jrue Holiday, 30 points-10 assists versus Mavs

Anthony Davis, 31 points, 11 rebounds versus Mavs

Andrew Wiggins, 23 points, 10 rebounds (first career double-double) versus Blazers

Ryan Anderson’s 30 point, eight three-pointer performance from Friday night

And next time you’re on the road or have some down time be sure to give Episode 47 of the TLM Podcast a listen as TLM’s Nick Denning and James Plowright are joined by SLC Dunk’s AllThatAmar to chat about the Utah Jazz.
