Final AVCA poll of 2012

'long as I'm here.

Even more so than the others, this is basically symbolic. Particularly when you look at the top five. Number one, of course, is Texas. Number two, of  course, is Oregon. Number three, I'd say of course, is Penn State.

Number four is…Stanford?

Number five is Michigan?

Uhh….who won that Elite Eight match again?

The margin was, ehh, fairly close. 33 points difference. But come on. You make the Final Four, you're one of the top four. At least I'd say so.

The top eight are the final eight from the tournament, but the top sixteen are not the regional semifinalists. Granted, some of those are good choices – Hawaii going out to Washington in the round of 32 doesn't mean they should rank that low (just as Washington wouldn't have had they been the ones to lose that fiercely competitive, incredible match). UCLA also got propped up a little, dropping to Michigan State (16th) in their home pod. And Wichita State, who were present in the round of 16, are just #23 in this poll.
