Tampa Bay Buccaneers Video of the Day- 1995 Upset of Green Bay on ESPN in Big Sombrero!

Todays Video is from the 1995 Week 14 Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sam Wyche was still the Bucs coach, Hardy Nickerson and John Lynch were Bucs for 3 seasons, Dave Moore was in his 3rd season too, and Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks were rookies.

This game goes down as ONE OF the greatest upsets the Bucs ever pulled off; Top ten at least, as the Green Bay Packers were trying to clinch a playoff spot, but the Bucs upset them on National Television with ESPN crews televising the game! The win also ended 12 straight double digit loss seasons, and pulled the Bucs to 7-7 and kept them alive in the playoff race!

Of course we all know they didn’t make it, losing their last two, and the season finale at home vs Detroit a complete embarrassment to the franchise as Trent Dilfer was Benched according to plans made between Wyche and B/U QB Casey Weldon. Wyche was fired by the Glazers after they had secured the team to stay in Tampa, and a new stadium was being built. Tony Dungy was hired and retained none of the old Wyche staff, starting over with a clean slate; it would be 3 more seasons, and 6 games, before the Bucs would beat the Packers again. To this day, only once have the Packers won at Raymond James Stadium in the last 14 years.
