Seeking a second primary contributor (CMigrator copy 1)

(this was also posted as a regular entry, dated March 17, 2013)

I’d like to bring a second writer on board TNS. Don’t misunderstand — this is not “pick up the slack for me.” This is “there aren’t enough hours in the day.” Over TNS’ first six months, I averaged better than 25 posts a month, about 6 a week. It wasn’t always one a day, I think I’ve posted as many as four in one day on at least one occasion, but I always try never to go more than 2 days without posting anything. I think quantity-wise, I’m doing okay, as far as one person can.

But….there’s so much more out there. I covered approximately none of the NCAA women’s season in 2012, and I worked my tail off to do it. I think the site could really benefit from having another contributor, another voice. We don’t need to cover every match of America East season or something, but if someone wanted to come on board and do that, I wouldn’t turn it down.

One of the things that’s really spurring this on for me is my slippage in covering NCAA sand volleyball. That season has begun, though you wouldn’t know it from reading TNS. And I feel bad about that, because I would really like to cover it. I’m still gonna try (the season has only just begun), but it would be easier if I had a little help.

Now, I live in the real world. I know I’m not gonna be beating people off with a stick for the chance at an unpaid volunteer position writing for a WordPress blog. But on the off chance there’s someone out there, maybe even a regular reader, who has the same wish I do, ….well I’ve got to put this out there and see. You never know unless you ask, eh?

I fancy that this blog is “all about the wonderful sport of volleyball,” and I want so much to make that tagline a reality. It will be so much easier if I can bring another contributor on board. You don’t have to write like me (in fact, it’s probably better if you don’t). You’ll have editorial control over all your posts. I just….I feel like this is something that’s within the grasp of myself and a motivated partner. We can make TNS something amazing.

Is it bombastic to be throwing this out there when TNS is still just 7 months old? Maybe. But I hope it shows I’m in this for the long haul. Even if I never find a partner, even if I’m always just on a free WordPress blog, I will never stop writing about the sport of volleyball, because it’s a beautiful, amazing sport that deserves all the love it gets and so much more. If there’s anyone out there that shares my vision and my passion, please drop me a line. Contact information is available on the ‘About’ page.
