I probably won’t get into draft stuff until the end of May, but here are a couple of mock drafts from NHL.com to wet your whistle…
MIKE G. MORREALE’S MOCK DRAFT
15. Rangers – Mark McNeill, C, Prince Albert (WHL)
SKINNY: Right-handed center (6-foot-1 1/2, 201 pounds) is tough to play against; good awareness at both ends
ADAM KIMELMAN’S MOCK DRAFT
15. Rangers – Vladimir Namestnikov, C, London (OHL)
SKINNY: Flashy Russian showed no problems adapting in first North American season
STEVEN HOFFNER’S MOCK DRAFT
15. Rangers – Mark Scheifele, C, Barrie (OHL)
SKINNY: Solid center with good numbers (75 points in 66 games) in OHL
The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be held at the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.
…looks like the experts feel the Rangers should go center. Probably a good idea.
