Looking over the UNOFFICIAL depth chart for your 2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

depth chartNot THAT kind of Depth Chart!! The unofficial one!The first line says it all: Unofficial.

They say you should always read between the lines though! Or in this case, ON the line, as in who is on the offensive and defensive line of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2011 first Depth Chart.

Unofficial, of course!

For starters, the offensive line features few surprises, but it would seem that Jeremy Trueblood has the nod at Left Tackle ahead of last years starter James Lee. Not to fret, new OL coach will have Trueblood playing to his strength, clearing people out of the way in the running game, no more zone blocking.  On the other side, Ted Larsen maintains his starting role he won last year. The rest is common sense: Donald Penn, Jeff Faine, Davin Joseph and Kellen Winslow at Tight End. So far incumbent Ryan Purvis is back up tight end ahead of the new comers, but that could change as camp and preseason move along.

The other line, defense, has some equal surprises. Michael Bennett is listed ahead of Da’Quan Bowers, though we’ve heard somewhere, oh year, top line, that this list is unofficial! Adrian Clayborn is a starter on the right side however, as are Roy Miller, and Gerald McCoy. Is it Bowers health, or inexperience that have him NO.2 on the depth chart? Stay tuned Friday where he gets the opportunity to move up, along with other Bucs players.

The skill positions are pretty much as they left off last season; Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, Earnest Graham and LeGarrette Blount; with Josh Freeman at QB.
PLEASE READ MORE to get into Middle linebacker and more!!

ON Defense, the hot battle is Middle Linebacker, and Mason Foster is the guy there. He would not have been given the start over McKenzie unless he was ready, so get ready Bucs fans, Year One of what the Bucs hope to be a long tenure at Mike. Quincy Black and Geno Hayes are the two sides, but that will be interesting too.

This by NO MEANS is a final draft for Detroit. A lot of times a player is put in to start to fire up the guy below to motivate him to take over. I believe thats the case for the Sam and Will Linebacker position.

Sean Jones, Cody Grimm are the Safeties, and Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib are the corners.

Christian Yount is the Bucs long snapper if Economos does not heal. One interesting note, Sammie Stroughter has found his way down the depth chart for Kickoff and Punt returner. Preston Parker is no.2 right now, though he has never scored a TD as a KO returner for the Bucs like no.1 and 3 have.

Nathan Overbay is ahead of Daniel Hardy at 3rd string TE with Luke Stocker too. Erik Lorig is backup Fullback, Kregg Lumpkin and Mossis Madu are back up tailbacks ahead of USC rookie Allen Bradford.

One more time….UNOFFICIALLY, that is.
