Instant Analysis (with a 35% Chance that we JUST might be talking a bit more about this over the next, um, 9 months!)
Point 1. The schedule is favorable for a 4-0 start. It is nice to be playing a Pac-12 game BEFORE Oregon (Colorado at home) and it is also nice that Oregon doesn’t play Tennessee Tech the week before us (they play Arizona and Rich Rod the week prior, which will not lend itself to easy prep for us)
Point 2. The season will be won or lost in October. From Oct 6 through the 27 we have key Pac-12 North tilts.
Point 3. The BYE week is PERFECT for us. Not only do we get two weeks to prepare for Stanford, but we play them the week after THE BIG GAME. (Yes, the Big Game is on Oct 20 this year for reasons that will never be justifiable, at least in my mind).
Point 4. November 10th is a GREAT time to play a non-Tricky Ricky UCLA coached team (see ASU last year as case in point). Also, like Oregon, UCLA will play Rich Rod the week prior–meaning that there should be some tough prep for them.
Point 5. The Apple Cup represents a short week. Tough games for both teams (us at ASU and them at CU at altitude in what could be cold/snow) the week before, but you have to figure that the short week should present a particularly formidable challenge for Mr. Wilcox and the Christian Caples as they prepare to face the AirRaid for the first time (Hopefully in front of more than 16,000 fans)…
That’s all for now. Its a good schedule, folks.
Exciting.
Go Cougs!
