The 2012 College Rugby Championship kicked off a little before 9 o’clock in the morning, with the Commodore Barry Bridge seeing a light morning traffic flow passing by PPL Park. Penn State’s rugby team wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard, jumping to an 5-0 lead on the opening possession. Penn State opened up a 17-0 lead, thanks to a turnover returned for a score in the second half, but was stunned in the final four seconds in the match when LIFE scored to pull within three points, and returned the ensuing possession by maneuvering the ball around the pitch and scoring after time expired. LIFE shocked Penn State 19, 17 to move to 1-0 in the tournament.
Penn State takes on Wisconsin in match 10, scheduled for 11:59 a.m. kickoff. LIFE will take on Temple at 11:38 a.m.
