John Henson
North Carolina – Junior (Born 1990)
Powe Forward
6’11” 220lbs
The Good:
– defensive menace – great shotblocker
– huge wingspan (reportedly 7’4″)
– good rebounder
– great at staying out of foul trouble
– improved offensive game – can hit the face up jumper, decent post moves
– still has plenty of upside
– athletic for a man his size
– experienced – played in a big conference for a primetime program
The Bad:
– still extremely skinny – not strong enough for the NBA
– while offensive game is improved, it is still lacking
– inefficient scorer
– doesn’t shoot for a high enough % for a big man
– horrible free throw shooter
NBA Comparison:
Poor man’s Marcus Camby
The Skinny:
The skinny is that John Henson is still skinny. Can he add significant weight/strength to survive in the NBA? That is the big question, because his length, athleticism and defensive instincts (not to mention his huge upside) project him to be a very good NBA player.
