Marquis Teague
Kentucky – Freshman (Born 1993)
Point Guard
6’2″ 180lbs
The Good:
– 6’7″ wingspan
– true “pass first” point guard
– great genes/pedigree – brother Jeff plays for the Hawks
– big game experience
– exception athlete
– great leaper – 40.5″ vertical
– extremely fast and agile
– got better and better as season progressed
– plenty of potential – only 19-years-old
The Bad:
– undersized for the NBA
– poor shooter
– not much of a scorer
– very young/inexperienced
– doesn’t get to the free throw line
– turnover prone
– won’t be ready to contribute right away – a project
NBA Comparison:
Jeff Teague, Kyle Lowry
The Skinny:
Marquis Teague is definitely a project, but the physical tools are there to make him a solid NBA point guard.
