So today I happened to catch the Northwestern-Syracuse game, in which Northwestern pulled out a thrilling 42-41 victory, scoring the game winning TD with 44 seconds to go. Despite the exciting action, I couldn’t help but be constantly reminded of one thing as I watched Northwestern play: tube socks. Yes, tube socks, like the one pictured above. Why? Check out Northwestern’s odd 2012 road uniforms here. Much like the sock pictured above, they are all white with 3 horizontal purple stripes going around the top. To top things off, they also decided to add “Wildcats” just above the “heel”/butt of their tube sock. I give them some credit for trying something different, but is this really what they were aiming for? At least they have a long way to go to stoop to Oregon levels…
