2013-14 NBA Award Predictions

The 2013-14 NBA season is definitely a season to look forward to for NBA fans. There have been some big moves over the offseason; Andrew Bynum is now a Cavalier, Josh Smith is a Piston, Brandon Jennings is a Piston, Jrue Holiday is a Pelican, and Dwight Howard is a rocket! Here are some predictions for the 2013-14 NBA season.

Defensive Player Of The Year – LeBron James: LeBron James is so good at passing, scoring, and rebounding, that his defense often gets overlooked. LeBron can block shots, and he also gets a lot of steals. When he plays defense, he gets in your face, and it’s hard to shoot over him because he is 6 foot 8. Most people don’t know that LeBron has been on the NBA All-Defensive Team 5 times. James is a very good defender, and I really think that he will win the Defensive Player Of The Year Award.

6th Man Of The Year – Jarrett Jack: Last year with the Golden State Warriors, Jarrett Jack averaged about 13 points, and 6 assists per game. He also made 40.4% of the shots he took from behind the three point line, and 45.2% of all shots taken last year. He takes advantage of the amount of shots that he gets. He has the ability to score when you need him to. The Cavaliers definitely have a great 6th man, in Jarrett Jack.

Coach Of The Year – Kevin McHale: Last year, the Rockets were 45-37 under Kevin McHale. They were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. This year, I am expecting them to do even better. They signed Dwight Howard over the offseason, and they now have 3 great players, Jeremy Lin, Dwight Howard, and James Harden. The Rockets are going to be a great team in 2014.

Rookie Of The Year – Otto Porter: Otto Porter was drafted 3rd overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, by the Washington Wizards. He averaged 16 points, and 8 rebounds per game with Georgetown last year. He is a tremendous player, and I think that he will be the NBA Rookie Of The Year.

MVP – LeBron James – As we all know, LeBron James is an amazing player. He is the best all around player in the NBA right now. He can do a lot of everything. He is by far, the best player in the NBA right now and I really think that he will be the MVP in 2013-14.
