2013-14 Phoenix Suns Season Preview

Last year, the Phoenix Suns finished the season with a pitiful record of 25-57. That’s pretty awful. The Suns were involved in a pretty big trade over the offseason, in which they recieved Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler from the Clippers in exchange for Jared Dudley and two future second round picks. That’s a pretty big trade. The Suns actually went on to trade Caron Butler in the same offseason, for Ish Smith and Viacheslav Kravstov.

2013-14 Suns MVP Prediction: Eric Bledsoe: Eric Bledsoe is a six foot one shooting guard out of Kentucky. This season will be Bledsoe’s fourth in the NBA. Last season with the Clippers, he averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. That’s pretty solid, though it’s not good enough to be the best player on a team usually, so why did I pick him to be the Suns’ MVP this season? I picked him to be the Suns’ MVP this season because I am fully expecting a breakout season from him this year. He has a ton of potential and I am expecting him to put that on display this season.

A Player That Suns Fans Need To Look Out For This Season: Markieff Morris: Markieff Morris is a six foot ten power forward out of Kentucky. This season will be his third in the NBA. Last year, he averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. That’s pretty solid. This year he will be expected to do a lot better, because he is now an experienced NBA player and he can’t use the “I’m still young” excuse anymore. Will he live up to his expectations to be a leader on this Suns team? We’ll have to see.

Suns 2013-14 Season Prediction: 32-50: This Suns team obviously isn’t very good, but they have some talent. Marcin Gortat, Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Markieff Morris are all talented NBA players. None of which are talented enough to carry this team anywhere, and that’s why I am predicting that they will have a record of 32-50 this season.
