Last year, the Sacramento Kings finished the season with a record of 28-54. This was not a good year for Sacramento, obviously. The Kings had a somewhat active offseason, to help better their team. I’m expecting a pretty good season from them this year.

Kings 2013-14 MVP Prediction: DeMarcus Cousins: DeMarcus Cousins is a six foot eleven center out of Kentucky. He was drafted fifth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, by the Sacramento Kings. Last year, he averaged 17.1 points, and 9.9 rebounds per game. That is tremendous! He is only 23 years old too, so he is still on the rise. I really think that he is going to have a good season this year; one reason that I think this is that the Kings got a new point guard over the offseason. They got Greivis Vasquez from the Pelicans. Vasquez is a pass first point guard, and I know that DeMarcus Cousins is going to be his main target because Cousins is just so good in the paint. I am fully expecting Cousins to have a great season this year.

3 Players That Kings Fans Need To Look Out For:

  • Ben McLemoreBen McLemore is a six foot five shooting guard out of Kansas. Last season, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2 assists per game with Kansas. He made 42% of the shots that he took behind the three point line. He is a tremendous shooter. He was drafted seventh overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, by the Sacramento Kings. I am expecting a great season from him this year, because he is such a good shooter. The defense in the NBA is different from the defense in college, obviously, so I am interested in seeing how he does this season.
  • Greivis VasquezGreivis Vasquez is a six foot six point guard out of Maryland. Last year with the Hornets, he averaged 13.9 points and 9 assists per game. That is really good. His good season last year surprised a lot of people. His good season came out of nowhere, and that’s why I think he needs to be closely monitored this season. A lot of people have great seasons, but then the next year they revert back to their old self. I don’t expect to see that out of Vasquez this year, but I know a lot of people who do, and I recognize that this is a possibility. That is why Kings fans need to look out for him this season.
  • Jason ThompsonJason Thompson is a six foot eleven power forward out of Rider college. Thompson was drafted twelfth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Obviously, he was drafted pretty high in the draft, and entered the league with a lot of potential. He hasn’t lived up to his potential yet, and he is 27 years old. I’d say this is his last chance to prove that he isn’t a bust. This is similar to the situation with Evan Turner and the Philadelphia 76ers. Both of these players are dangerously close to being declared a bust. That is why Kings fans need to look out for him this season.

2013-14 Kings Season Prediction: 41-41: When I look at this Kings team, I see a ton of youth. I also see some tremendously talented players. They have some good, young talent that I like a lot, and that’s why I predicted them to win 13 more games than they did last year.
