Ben McLemore
Kansas – Freshman (Born 1993)
Shooting Guard
6'5" 189 lbs

The Good:

– great leaper – 42 inch vertical
– 6'8" wingspan
– NBA athlete
– very good shooter – accurate & nice form
– three-point range on his jumper
– can be a disruptive defender
– very efficient scorer
– great free throw shooter (87%)
– good rebounder for his position
– stays out of foul trouble
– physically strong

The Bad:

– a year older than other freshman due to redshirt year
– struggled in non-home games
– inconsistent
– played poorly in the NCAA tournament (other than the last game)
– needs to take care of the ball better (more turnovers than assists in college)
– off court red flags (legal, school)
– doesn't draw fouls
– can be too passive at times
– has difficulty creating his own offense
– doesn't get to rim very often

NBA Comparison:

Poor man's Ray Allen; Vince Carter

The Skinny:

Whether Ben McLemore can live up to the Ray Allan comparisons is all up to him – the physical tools and skills are definitely there.
