(Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports)
Michael Carter-Williams
Syracuse – Sophomore (Born 1991)
Point Guard
6'6" 184 lbs
The Good:
– exceptional length for a point guard
– fantastic athlete in all aspects (speed, quickness, leaping, mobility, etc.)
– pass first point guard
– great ball-handler
– good rebounder, especially offensively
– fantastic playmaker & passer
– great at getting steals
– stays out of foul trouble
The Bad:
– a year older than most other sophomores
– didn't play a big role his freshman year – only his sophomore one
– needs to get physically stronger
– not much of a scorer
– shoots for a horrible %
– mediocre free throw shooter
– inefficient scorer
– no range on his jumper
– turns the ball over too frequently
– played at a school that hasn't produced many top NBA players of late
NBA Comparison:
Shaun Livingston
The Skinny:
Can Michael Carter-Williams become a decent enough scorer & shooter to make NBA defenses play him honest? That's the million dollar question.
