Since the second half of game two Klay Thompson has had a hard time scoring the basketball against the San Antonio Spurs. He will need to step up his game as rookie Harrison Barnes got hurt right before halftime after a hard fall while contesting a shot attempt by Boris Diaw who traveled before he got fouled.
Before leaving the game Barnes had scored eight points on 4-7 shooting. The good news is that after a few minutes he was able to walk off the court under his own power with trainers following close by. Fortunately it wasn’t serious as he received six stitches and was back on the floor for the second half, though later on it was reported the he wasn’t going to return due to a headache.
The loss of Barnes would have been huge as the Golden State Warriors used him to post up Danny Green and Tony Parker. At halftime he had eight points and so far in the 2013 playoffs he’s averaged 16.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists on 44.7 percent shooting, 38 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the free throw line.
As for Thompson went 1-6 and scored two points.
