Jeremiah Attaochu, DE, Georgia Tech, #45
Attaochu looks pretty close to being a lock for the first round. He has shown some impressive pass rushing skills as well as being strong against the run. On top of that, he appears to have the versatility to play in both the 4-3 or 3-4 (although he’s a better fit for 3-4 OLB). He’s shown impressive speed and the hands to get to the QB, something that will translate strongly to the NFL. Expect him to be drafted in the middle of the 1st round and immediately make an impact. With his combination of size, speed and technique, it wouldn’t be surprising if he had a career similar to DeMarcus Ware, although he’ll need to put on a little bit more weight.
Brandon Watts, ILB, Georgia Tech, #11
Watts has had an underwhelming season at for Georgia Tech and it’s difficult to see his skills translating strongly in the new pass heavy NFL. Although a smaller inside linebacker, Watts hasn’t shown the football skills to make an impact at the NFL level. He has the athletic skills to play, but tends to get beat in pass coverage often. His athletic skills could get him drafted in the 6th or 7th round but he will have trouble cracking the starting lineup.
Charles Sawyer, CB, Ole Miss, #3
At one time, Sawyer had an outside shot of getting drafted on Day 2, but after some off field issues and injuries, he’s likely dropped to a 7th round pick. He also lacks the athleticism to dominate, however his technique and ability to play bump and run could help him find a role on an NFL defense, particularly on a team that runs a lot of Cover-2.
