2015 76ers Mock Draft

The Sixers have a total of six picks in the draft this upcoming June. Even though the draft is more than a month away, we all have a pretty good sense at who Philly wants with the 3rd overall pick. The Sixers have five second round picks and not even Sam Hinkie knows what to do with them. I’m going to give you who I think the 76ers should take if they keep all six picks.

3rd Overall Pick

D’Angelo Russell has to be the guy here. The Sixers already have the front court of the future with Noel and Embiid, so there is no need to draft a big. Philadelphia is in need of a point guard and he has all the talent they need. D’Angelo is a combo guard that will add shooting depth and fill the hole at the point guard spot. Russell averaged 19 points and 5 assists a game at The Ohio State University and has said he would love to get a shot to be drafted by the Sixers.

35th Overall Pick

I like Cliff Alexander with this pick. I know I said earlier that they don’t need a big, but he will add depth none the less. Alexander is from Kansas and he averaged around 7 points and 5 rebounds a game. Coming out of high school, Cliff was ranked the #2 prospect, according to the RSCI. He is a very up and down player who came off the bench for most of the season. With some development, he can turn into a pivotal piece off the bench.

37th Overall Pick

J.P. Tokoto out of North Carolina is who I think they should pick. He’s mostly known for his defense as he only averaged 8 points a game and 61% from the free throw line. Tokoto played the small forward position at UNC and used his athleticism to lead the way on defense. His offensive game has yet to show itself, but with the quick first step he has, he can be dangerous on his way to the rim. This pick would add another player with a lot of upside.

47th Overall Pick

I have the Sixers selecting Andrew Harrison with this pick. If you played for Kentucky, you’re on the radar off just about every team. Even though it is a long shot that he falls this far down the board, it would be a great pick for the Sixers. Andrew is a point guard as well as D’Angelo Russell, so Harrison won’t be the starter day 1. He is very big (6’8) for a combo guard and that helps him get his way to the basket. He is very good in transition and knows how to put the ball in the hoop. If he is still available, the Sixers have to take the chance.

58th Overall Pick

Yes there might be bias in this pick, but I think it would be smart for the Sixers to draft Darrun Hilliard out of Villanova. Villanova is my favorite college basketball team and Darrun has been my favorite player ever since his freshman year. He knows how to score the ball at a high rate and is a great shooter. If he catches fire, he can be a really dangerous player as he has proved many times over his college career.

60th Overall Pick

With this pick, I have the 76ers taking Alpha Kaba out of France. This selection would just be another player to keep overseas for a couple of years. Kaba is 6’10 and can play both power forward and center. Alpha averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds a game in France.
