On the eve of the Hall of Fame announcement, some friends of this site (both old and new) got together for the Hall of Very Good’s annual live chat.
In an effort to bring in a known commodity or two…I sent out a handful of invites to some baseball writers and former players that I’ve talked with in the past. Unfortunately, given the timing of the event, no one was able to make it as, naturally, most writers were busy prepping their own Hall of Fame pieces.
One of the guys I invited was a guy I’ve been emailing back and forth with for some time. He is coincidentally, the guy who changed the face of the Hall of Fame when he blew the roof off of Major League Baseball back in 2005…Jose Canseco.

I didn’t respond after that last one, because, really…what could I have said?
Now, I get it, The Hall isn’t a mainstream site (far from it honestly) like Deadspin or Big League Stew, but seriously, Jose…what else do you have going on late on a Tuesday night? We’ve all read the tweets about your life…we know that you’re not THAT busy.
And furthermore…what “show” and ratings is he talking about?
Maybe next time, gang…but something tells me not.
