A Wild Defeat and a Return Home

A Wild Defeat and a Return Home

The Blues fell at the hands of the Minnesota Wild last night, but outside of the loss itself, you won’t find many fans complaining about the four game road trip the Blues just embarked on. Four games, eight possible points and the Blues come away with six. All in all, I’ll take it and I think most Blues fans would too. Tonight the team returns home to take on Buffalo as their jam packed stretch of games continue.

You can’t win ’em all but you can win three out of four which is exactly what the Blues just did on what was the beginning of one of their toughest stretches of the season. I’ll be honest … I didn’t think this trip would go anywhere near as well as it did. Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Minnesota – all on the road. I had hoped for two wins but was bracing for the worst. The Blues have played fantastic on the road, but their play against Tampa Bay and the lack of consistency had most fans hoping for the best but bracing for some ugly results.

Three wins and a one goal loss on the road, I’ll take that any day. Granted, I would have loved to see the Blues complete their comeback bid in Minnesota after falling behind, but we can let this one slide assuming the team comes out and gives a complete effort tonight against Buffalo.

Home has not been a friendly place for the Blues this season. They own one of the worst records at home in the league. Hopefully their momentum and the improved play by all of the team as a whole, but especially the youngsters, can propel the side to a much needed home in front of their home fans.

Early start tonight (5pm) so make sure you aren’t late if you are attending or planning on watching from home.

Let’s Go Blues! Let’s make it four of five.
