3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers sure to walk the plank after camp;

Training camp is only a couple days away folks, and I will look at players and positions that are on the bubble or have heavy competition. But first up, Three Buccaneers I think are doomed this camp, three Bucs fighting for their NFL lives, at least in Pewter and Red. Michael Clayton- Second in voting for the offensive rookie of the year in 2004, Michael Clayton has spent his career as a Training Camp darling, consistently inconsitent during the regular season, but the August “Looks Great” player who drops balls. Clayton is known as an excellent blocker, and he in fact is one of the best, but with this years bumper crop of WR coming in, and last years Sammie Stroughter, the writing is finally on the wall for #80. He got a big contract before last season when the GM didnt want to go into ’09 without any WRs, but now is the time the Bucs can cut their ties with Clayton and not worry about the cap hit, as there is no cap. Maurice Stovall- See Michael Clayton above; Stovall has made the roster each year as a special teamer, but the Bucs are going to keep Michael Spurlock this year and cannot afford to keep TWO Wide Receivers that serve special team duties. He is another guy who steps up for camp, then takes a seat from September on. This time the seat becomes more permanent. Ryan Simms-Last year was his swan song, as the Jim Bates project called for big slothy linemen to occupy the middle of the line. This year, the Bucs went out and drafted defensive tackles for both positions, Price and McCoy, and with Roy Miller left over from last year, leaves no room for Simms who just doesn’t fit the mold anymore for this defense. Of the three, Simms may be the first to be picked up by someone else.
