The previews for this week’s episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” centered around the heavily promoted blow up between Meatloaf and Gary Busey and nowhere to be seen was Jose Canseco.
And now we know why.
Early in the episode, the former slugger bowed out of the competition so that he could spend time with his ill father who had taken the proverbial “turn for the worse”.
As you would expect, Donald Trump was understanding, donated $25,000 to Canseco’s charity (B.A.T., the Baseball Assistance Team) and granted him his release.
I was curious if Canseco’s father’s cancer would play a part in the run of the show or not. If you follow the 1988 American League MVP on Twitter, you’ve seen the tweets about the elder Canseco and know that he passed away last month.
