February 2nd – A Tribute to Dennis Wideman’s Awful Shootout Attempt

It’s also the anniversary of one of the worst shootout attempts in NHL history by the former member of the St. Louis Blues skater Dennis Wideman. Back on February 2nd, 2006 we saw Wideman streak in for a shootout attempt only to see his entire body somehow leave the ice without even an attempt on net. There really aren’t words for how bad his attempt is. Losing your footing is one thing. Losing your footing so badly on a deke that sends you airborne is another.
