In a little paragraph in today’s news about Cincinnati and Indiana agreeing to a football series in 2021, word came out about 4 Bearcats who have had their careers cut short due to injuries. This was reported on Cincinnati.com.
Two of the Bearcats mentioned are Mark Barr and Javon Harrison. They were involved in the horrific car accident the weekend of the Miami game last year that took the life of Ben Flick. The most important thing for those two is getting fully healthy and living healthy lives again. Barr especially since his condition was much worse.
Marcus Foster and Drake Bruns, both defensive backs, are the other two that have had their UC careers dashed.
Foster was a 4 star recruit in 2012 by ESPN, 3 star by everyone else. He was considered a top 20 safety coming out of high school. Foster saw action in 6 games last year. He made 3 tackles, including 1 for a loss.
Drake Bruns was a 3 star recruit who came to UC from the Highlands. He was a redshirt in 2012 and didn’t record any stats last season.
All 4 men will stay on scholarship this season. Here is hoping they all get as healthy as they can and get something out of this year, even though they can’t participate on the field. Just because bad news comes doesn’t mean everything has to be bad.
