Highly touted WR Eugene Lewis, of Plymouth, PA,  has chosen to play for the Nittany Lions, according to BlueWhiteIllustrated.com.

The 6’1.5’’, 180-pound playmaker was rated the 7th best receiver in the class of 2012 by Scout.com. Here is part of the player evaluation on his Scout.com page:

“Lewis has the potential to be a star at the next level. As a sophomore, he showed the skill set that college coaches dream of. He has an outstanding frame and is such a smooth and fluid athlete…He is very instinctive and always makes things happen.”

Lewis has good size and is considered a downfield threat. He needs to work on his speed, but has good running ability and field vision.

Lewis caught 31 passes for 772 yards and 9 TDs, rushed for 345 yards and 1 TD, and had 4 interceptions on defense during his sophomore season at Wyoming Valley West High School. He played quarterback as a junior, passing for 1,230 yards and 12 TDs to go along with 1,134 rushing yards and 18 scores.

He becomes the 14th player to commit to Penn State’s class of 2012.
