This week hasn’t been a great one for yours truly. When I’m down in the dumps, I like to watch funny things to cheer me up. At the worst, it takes my mind off the things that are bothering me, at least temporarily. Today, I’m going to throw a couple of clips at you from shows that are very funny. It’s that simple. I’m just trying to get through the day and look forward to watching the playoffs this weekend.
I’ve tried something different this year. Instead of only watching Inside the NBA and the Finals, and ignoring the NHL playoffs until the deciding game of the Stanley Cup, I am throwing myself into both. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to pull off, because it can be a lot of hours of sports in a day. But, it has been totally worth it. You can cut the viewing time in half on both by watching on DVR, especially for basketball, which is about 55 minutes or so accounting for commercials and halftime and the like. The only problem is that you don’t get to see things live, and the potential spoiler alerts if you look at twitter or anything. The NBA playoffs have been very good. I don’t live in an area with NBATV, so that has sucked, but overall, the games have been great. I’m rooting for the Bulls. The NHL playoffs have been something else. The intensity of nearly every game is off the charts. Nothing is more stressful to watch than OT hockey, even if you don’t have a pony in the race. It’s the semifinals now, so I recommend getting in on the action. It’s Philadephia, Washington, Tampa Bay and Boston on one side, and Detriot, Calgary, San Jose and Nashville on the other. I think I’m going for the Sharks, mainly because they won me over with their wild 2nd period in game 5, I think, against the Kings. I recommend diving in. It should be fun.
