Halak to IR, Bishop Recalled
There’s been yet another setback in Jaroslav Halak’s sluggish season. Today the team announced via Twitter that Halak has been placed on the IR with an injured right hand. As a result, Ben Bishop has been recalled from Peoria.
Currently, there’s no timetable on Halak’s return or what exactly the severity of the injury is, but clearly it is serious enough to warrant the Blues placing him on injured reserve.
Bishop now makes his return to the Blues after enjoying a brief stay a couple weeks ago. Last time he didn’t see any action with the club as Ty Conklin secured all the starts. Depending on the severity of Halak’s injury, we may see Bishop take the ice for the Blues for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Fans – let your frustrations out. Coming off a pretty impressive win over the Vancouver Canucks, Halak appeared much sharper and needed that sort of game to raise his confidence. Now we’re starting over as Halak will be sidelined and will miss at minimum a few contests while he heals. Could his season get anymore rocky?
