The Bruins have started the season off to a pretty shitty start. What an opening line huh? I’ll be honest, I didn’t believe that the B’s would start 4-0, but I didn’t think that they would also be 1-3 with two horrible outings against two less then mediocre teams. Carolina and Colorado aren’t going to light the NHL on fire and for Boston to play the way they did is a disgrace. The Bruins are better than that.
A few days ago I wrote about Milan Whocic not showing up for the Bruins, but it’s unfair to put it all on #17. In reality, not many guys are stepping up when they need to. Whocic and Horton definitely need to step it up, especially if Krejci is out longer than this short road trip. Jordan Caron has looked like dog shit the few games he’s played. I know the kid is young but when he played in the beginning of last season he looked good. He looked hungry. This year he just looks lost.
Before I continue: Check out Blackhawks Downlow. Fucking love those guys.
Thomas hasn’t looked spectacular this season either. Sure, he has made some good individual saves, but other than the Tampa win can you say he’s looked on point? In Philadelphia he gave up a goal he shouldn’t have. Against Carolina, he looked slow. I know it’s blasphemy to speak ill of Tim Thomas due to last season, but that’s over. The guy is a year older and at the beginning of the playoffs he’ll be 38. 38!
The only redeeming thing about the Bruins is they play well against good teams. Although they lost to Philly, they played a good game. You can give them a pass because they spent 45 minutes waiting for a banner to be hung. They dominated a very good Tampa Bay team. Lesser opponents? They shit the bed.
I bring this up because Chicago is a good fucking hockey team. They still have super douche Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. They still have Patrick Sharp (though he’s got like 20 penalty minutes haha). They have some fantastic defensive players and were lucky enough to get rid of that fire bush Brian Campbell.
If the Bruins want to win tonight, they need to play like the Bruins not the pussies they played like against Carolina and Colorado.
After the jump, GameDay Brew, Project Roster and all the goodness…
Tonight’s GameDay Brew is going to be a quick one. With the little one running around today, I doubt I’ll be able to get two posts in so here you go! With the Bruins stuck in a two game losing streak, its time to give them (and us) a little break. Their play the past few games has been painful. Outside of Seguin, Marchand and the second line, this team doesn’t look in sync. The powerplay sucks and is a remnant of last season’s abortion during the playoffs.
Yeah, they won a Stanley Cup with an abysmal powerplay but that doesn’t mean they can do it again. If they want to win, they need to fix that shit and fix it now. Corvo has been a nice addition, but the guy can’t hit the broad side of a transvestite (Wait, he can!) The guy loves to shoot and that’s a nice change of pace to that doughy fuck who couldn’t even shoot his wad.
So with that said friends, here’s today’s GameDay Brew to get through this painful powerplay:
You damn right. A shot of Jameson and two Tylonel. That’s exactly what you need to get through this shitty fucking powerplay. God it’s awful.
*Days of Y’Orr is not responsible for any morons who go out, get drunk and do stupid shit. This is entertainment purposes only.
Projected Roster
With the injury to McQuaid, there’s been actual rumors that the Bruins will play with five defenseman. That makes no fucking sense to me. Five defensemen? Yeah, that’s a great idea. Let’s make our struggling defensive group work THAT much harder because Matt Bartowski sucks. If Julien actually uses five defensemen tonight, he should be strung up by his fucking baby in a suit face.
Milan Lucic-Tyler Seguin-Nathan Horton Brad Marchand-Patrice Bergeron-Rich Peverley
Benoit Pouliot-Chris Kelly-Jordan Caron
Daniel Paille-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk
Dennis Seidenberg-Joe Corvo
Andrew Ference-Matt Bartowski
Tuukka Rask
Tim Thomas
I think it’s time to have Tuukka see some playing time against a real team.
