5 Star Prospect CeCe Jefferson Set to Visit Cincinnati

In what has possibly been the quietest fall in terms of the recruiting front, Coach Tommy Tuberville and staff are still hard at work trying to add the final pieces to what is already a strong recruting class. Arguably their top target is defensive end CeCe Jefferson of Baker County Senior High School in Glen Saint Mary, Florida. CeCe is a 5 star and a top 15 player in all the major recruiting sites which makes him one of the most coveted players in the country. He has been offered by nearly everyone including Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida State, Notre Dame and Tennessee. While many would immediately think that Cincinnati would not even be on Jefferson’s radar, the Bearcats are very much in the mix for his services.

CeCe’s tie to Cincinnati began last year around this time when former teammate Mike Boone decommitted from Florida International and chose to become a Bearcat. While Boone was not heavily recruited, he and Jefferson were friends which increased CeCe’s interest in the Bearcats. Boone ended up signing with UC and has had some decent playing time in the games against Miami and SMU, tallying one TD.

Even while Boone is in Clifton and Jefferson remaining in Florida to finish school, it appears that CeCe keeps close tabs on the Bearcats with the following tweets:

Just today, it has been reported that CeCe has announced his 5 official visits and Cincinnati will get his final visit on December 6th when they take on the Houston Cougars at Paul Brown Stadium. Even though the Bearcats have a longshot at getting his commitment, it speaks volumes that UC gets an official from him over many other “Power 5” schools. There are several things that Coach Tuberville has to offer CeCe which includes:

  • The chance of IMMEDIATE playing time.
  • Reuniting with former teammate Mike Boone.
  • Our best recruiter, Coach Prunty, is not only his primary recruiter but would also be his position coach.
  • Coaching stability (Coach Tuberville has stressed his commitment to UC the past two weeks in his weekly presser). His current “leader,” Florida, cannot say the same since Muschamp is most likely done after this season.

There is still a long way to go in CeCe Jefferson’s recruitment as of now the Bearcats are one of five schools in the hunt to land him. If he does become a Bearcat, he will undoubtedly be the highest ranked recruit to commit in the 125 year history of Cincinnati Football.
