Where does Eli Apple stand?
It goes without saying that Eli Apple has had a tumultuous tenure in New York. If he doesn’t improve this season, he won’t be long for the team.
But how long will the leash be on him under a new coaching staff?
In two seasons with the team, Apple has just one interception to go with 15 passes defensed. But Sam Beal will be a player to watch. The Giants wouldn’t sacrifice a third-round pick to grab Beal in the supplemental draft if they were confident in Apple.
Is the QB of the future on the team?
Eli Manning is still the quarterback of the Giants and we’re pretty sure Pat Shurmur isn’t going to bench him the way McAdoo did.
But fans will have a first look at two young quarterbacks in Webb Davis and Kyle Lauletta, two guys who should have a shot at succeeding Manning.
The Giants selected Davis in the third round of last year’s draft before grabbing Lauletta this past April. It’s clear the team sees that the end is nearing for Manning, but are either of these guys behind him ready to fill those shoes?
