The Tribe bats came alive tonight. The scoring started in the 2nd inning when Casey Kotchman hit a sacrifice fly scoring Shin-Soo Choo (walk). Jack Hannahan then hit a 2-run home run scoring Michael Brantley (double). The scoring continued in the 3rd inning after Jason Kipnis lead off the inning with a solo homer. A single by Asdrubal Cabrera, a Travis Hafner walk, and double by Choo and Brantley added a couple more Indians runs and forced Red Sox starting pitcher Josh Beckett to be taken out of the game.
Derek Lowe was solid again tonight. He was hit quite a bit, giving up 7 singles and 2 doubles, but he minimized Boston to just 2 runs.
Feathers Down
Tony Sipp is not quite as dominating as he was last year. Tonight, Sipp gave up a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th inning. He was removed from the game after recording just 2 outs.
