Today will mark the third game in the Boston Bruins six game road trip — their longest of the season. This afternoon they face the Minnesotta Wild which have been a team known to give the Bruins trouble, regardless of how good the Wild were that particular year. Good news is that the Wild are also playing like ass, too, right now.
Obviously, Bruins have looked average at best since Horton went down with his injury. The hole he left really fucked up the team’s line chemistry. Losing Peverly only compounded all that. Team’s gotta rise above the injuries though. When the team was tearing through the league in October all the media and fans were talking about is how deep the Bruins are. Now everyone’s saying the opposite. It can’t be both.
This is how the Bruins have looked since the All-Star break: Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss, Win, Loss, Win, Loss. January 10th/12th was the last time the Bruins won back-to-back games. You have to go back to early-Deceber to see anything really resembling a winning streak. Bottom line is: Bruins aren’t playing so hot.
Chara’s been very un-Chara like. Not sure if it’s an injury or he’s just in a rut. Hopefully he snaps out/heal.
Chris Kelly hurt his teeth yesterday.
It’s also Hockey Day in America so go force some lame-ass American who doesn’t watch hockey and make ’em watch with you.
More after the jump…
