7/9 Recap: Blue Jays 0 – Indians 3

Player of the Game

Ubaldo Jimenez finally broke through the sixth inning threshold as he shut out the Blue Jays tonight. He wasn't able to get past the sixth, but it was enough as the Indians shut out Toronto. He scattered five hits and walked just two batters, despite throwing over 100 pitches in six innings. His final POG score was 5.95.

Feathers Up

The Indians announced today that Danny Salazar will be pitching the final game in the Blue Jays series, giving Tribe fans a chance to get a first look at the Indians top pitching prospect.

The Indians came through where they couldn't against the Tigers when Drew Stubbs doubled and scored in the ninth inning. Last night that would have been enough to turn a loss into a win, but today it was just another insurance run as the Indians were already winning 2-0.

Chris Perez was finally able to get his tenth save of the season and his fourth since returning from the disabled list. Since his return from the DL, he has thrown seven innings and not allowed a single run. Perez has now pitched four games in a row and has shown no issues with stamina or shoulder pain.

Feathers Down

Mark Reynolds is still struggling as he went 0-3 with a strike out a day after hitting two singles.
