7/23 Recap: Indians Add To Samardzija’s Trade Value

Player of the Game

Michael Bourn takes a lot of grief from this site and pretty much every Indians fan in the world but today he had a solid game. He was 2 for 3 including a double and a run scored.

Feathers Up

The Indians had 4 hits tonight. Two of them came from Bourn and the remaining two from Francisco Lindor. This is about all the positives that can be drawn from tonight’s game.

Feathers Down

Trevor Bauer‘s struggles at home continued tonight. Going into the game Bauer’s ERA at home was 5.82, it got even worse after tonight’s 3 home run outing. In 10 home starts this season Bauer is sporting a 6.16 ERA with 10 home runs allowed. Bauer’s final line for the night was 6 innings pitched, 6 hits, 6 earned runs, 2 walks, and 9 strikeouts. Unfortunately, Bauer’s troubles sealed the Indians’ fate as there was no offense to speak of once again and Kyle Crockett added to the troubles by allowing the 4th HR of the game, making the game 8-1, insurmountable by this offense.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 1  Chicago White Sox 8

On Deck: Game two of this four game set features Indians’ ace Corey Kluber taking on Jose Quintana. The Tribe will look to build upon the run support the gave Kluber in his last time out against the Reds when the offense spotted him 9 runs.
